Spreading Holiday Joy: Strategic Communications Partners with Salvation Army

The holiday season is about more than festive decorations and office parties. It’s about giving back to our community and making a difference in the lives of others.

Last Friday, our Strategic Communications team embodied this spirit by volunteering at the Salvation Army Joy Center in Louisville, Ky., where we helped process Angel Tree donations for local families in need.

The Angel Tree program is a cherished holiday tradition that connects generous donors with children who might otherwise go without gifts during the holiday season. Each “angel” on the tree represents a real person, complete with their wish list and sizes. While many angels find their donors, some tags remain unclaimed – these become our “forgotten angels.”

Our team spent the day on our feet, moving through the Joy Center’s warehouse with purpose. The work was physical but rewarding, as we confirmed package contents, organized donations, and participated in “shopping” for the forgotten angels – selecting items from available donations to ensure every child on the list receives holiday gifts.

“Working with the Salvation Army Angel Tree has been one of our favorite community outreach initiatives for over 12 years. Giving back each year genuinely helps our team get in the holiday spirit and it’s humbling to be part of making so many families smile a little brighter during the holiday season,” said Paige Reh, HR Director.

This experience continuously opens our eyes to both the tremendous community need and the incredible generosity of Louisville residents. We saw firsthand how the Salvation Army transforms their facility into a well-organized distribution center, where every gift bag is carefully checked and prepared for delivery to its recipient.

At Strategic Communications, our commitment to community service mirrors our dedication to excellence in IT, cloud, and commercial services. Just as we help organizations across the country transform their operations through innovative technology solutions, we’re equally passionate about transforming lives in our local community. Our team’s participation in the Angel Tree program represents just one facet of our ongoing mission to create positive change, whether through technological advancement or direct community engagement.

The spirit of giving and service that defines the holiday season is a year-round commitment at Strategic Communications. As we continue to grow and evolve as a leader in IT and cloud services, we remain dedicated to finding new ways to support and strengthen our local community while serving our clients across the nation.
