September’s Employees of the Month at Strategic

Every month, the employees at Strategic Communications are given the opportunity to acknowledge exemplary colleagues within or outside their department. Three individuals were chosen by their coworkers for their commitment to customer service, perseverance in the face of challenges, and can-do attitudes!

David Minds | Strategic Account Manager

• How long have you worked for Strategic Communications?

Over 10 years.

• What was your background prior to working for Strategic Communications?

Attending the University of Cincinnati before starting at Strategic Communications as a field technician

• What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding or fulfilling?

I enjoy collaborating with clients to design a custom AV/IT solution to enable time/cost savings.

• What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

When dealing with any challenge always make the next best decision and be transparent with the team.

• Outside of work, what are you passionate about/enjoy doing?

Spending time with family and cooking on a grill/smoker.

Crystal Newman | Sales Administrator

• How long have you worked for Strategic Communications?

Going on 10 years.

• What was your background prior to working for Strategic Communications?

I worked in credit card processing and prior to that I was a backup head teller at a local bank.

• What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding or fulfilling?

I like processing the paperwork and getting it ready for the reps to sell our products. I feel that I can grow in the sales support role.

• What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

Accepting the fact that every day I’m learning something new. Being able to accept constructive criticism, no matter how long I’ve been here, helps me stay on top of the latest processes.

• Outside of work, what are you passionate about/enjoy doing?

I like helping and being around people.  I love to laugh and I enjoy watching Football/Basketball.

• What is your current favorite TV Show, Podcast, or Book that you’d like to share with the world?

My favorite is watching “ID Discovery” on TV  that’s where I help the police solve crimes.

• What is something that people may not know about you?

I stopped a bank robbery and was in one. Both at the same location (2 different incidents).

Started at Strategic in December 2019.

Over 10 years of A/V industry installation and troubleshooting experience.

When not working, loves the outdoors, including fishing!
