Every month, the employees at Strategic Communications are given the opportunity to acknowledge exemplary colleagues within or outside their department. For the month of March, three individuals were nominated by their coworkers for their commitment to customer service, perseverance in the face of challenges, and can-do attitudes.
Alison Clink | Purchasing Specialist
Allison Clink started at Strategic in October of 2019, previously working in various management roles and purchasing BOH/FOH restaurant equipment. She finds working with smart and intuitive people the most rewarding part of her role at Strategic. Allison believes that a good team makes a better company, the synergy that comes with that reflects externally and internally. The largest lesson she has learned career-wise is that it’s all about perspective and interconnectedness. Allison advises others to always “take a second and think about how it affects the bigger picture before making changes.” When she’s not in the office, you can find Allison spending her time and money in local eateries, listening to crime podcasts or documentaries, or playing with her adorable dog Posey! One fun additional fact about Allison is that she spent 3.5 years working at her college radio station 89.3fm KOHL. Her most memorable interview had to be interviewing children inside the bouncy castle at the Rubber Ducky Derby at lake Elizabeth in Fremont, CA!
Susan Sandidge | Sales Admin
Susan Sandidge started working for Strategic in July of 2018, previously working in communications and technology sales for Hewlett Packard and ePlus. She finds assisting the Federal government in making purchases and ensuring tax dollars are not wasted a rewarding part of her role. Her career tip ad takeaways are sweet and simple: be on time and listen up! When she is not at work you can find Susan playing European board games, gardening, brewing beer, and crafting (making beaded jewelry, crocheting, sewing, and mixed media). Susan has also spent her free time watching RuPaul’s Drag Race, listening to the podcast “Flip The Table” and reading “What Unites Us.” Fun Fact! Susan currently has 8 rescue hermit crabs – They can live up to 8 years and grow to be the size of a football!
Fred Devoid | Director of Services
Fred Devoid has worked for Strategic as Director of Services since July 2015 – almost 6 years! He spent 20 years of his career serving in the United States Air Force. His birthday is April 22nd although he generally doesn’t like to acknowledge it. Fred’s favorite snacks are olives and almonds/mixed nuts. He also has a sweet tooth and loves Smarties! He has been married for over 40 years to his beloved Rosalie “Rodie” and they have two children, Jason and Kelly. Fred is an avid motorcycle rider and also loves mountain biking. He has broken over 30 bones throughout his lifetime.
