June’s Employees of the Month at Strategic

Every month, the employees at Strategic Communications are given the opportunity to acknowledge exemplary colleagues within or outside their department. I have worked at Strategic for 6 months.

I enjoy learning new skills and seeing how I can apply them to support those around me.

I enjoy board games, weightlifting, and playing videogames with friends in my free time.

Jordan Dunn | Accounts Payable

• How long have you worked for Strategic Communications?

I’m coming up on 1 year on July 31.

• What was your background prior to working for Strategic?

Prior to Strategic, I was an Office Administrator for a high-end custom lighting company.

• What Aspect of your job do you find most rewarding or fulfilling?

The job itself is rewarding and I love the people that I work with. Just working for a company that is so welcoming and family oriented.

What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

I learned to surround myself with smarter people and to be a sponge so that I can continue to grow and to pursue where I want to be professionally.

Outside of work, what are you passionate about/enjoy doing?

I enjoy spending time with my kids. It gives me so much joy to walk through the door after work to a “daddy, daddy, daddy….” chant, a hug from them both, and then my son inquiring of how my day was.

What is your current favorite TV Show, Podcast, or Book that you’d like to share with the world?

Favorite TV shows are Law & Order SVU and Chicago PD. My book selections are geared towards to kids, i.e. series Elmo books with my daughter and a lot of autobiography books with my son.

What is something that people may not know about you?

A hobby that I have is that I’m mechanically inclined and do most of the work on my car myself. I also draw from time to time.

Eric Heck | Contracts Administrator

• How long have you worked for Strategic Communications?

I was hired in June 2020, and boy am I glad!!!

• What is the best career lesson learned so far?

Always try to improve yourself and learn new things to make yourself more desirable and lethal as an employee

What is the one thing you can’t live without?

My family. That’s all that really matters to me

• What has been your biggest accomplishment on our team?

That’s a hard one. Would be a tie between streamlining all the Internal Quote Templates and TR processes for the various contracts and the move/update to Tableau for all the Sales reporting.

If you could meet anyone in the world dead or alive, who would it be and why?

Jesus…he loves me (agape: complete, unconditional love) which I don’t deserve.

What is your current favorite TV Show, Podcast, or Book that you’d like to share with the world?

I am a National Treasure franchise fan, currently watching National Treasure: Edge of History, an enjoyable continuation of the movie storylines with mostly all new characters.
