Every month, the employees at Strategic Communications are given the opportunity to acknowledge exemplary colleagues within or outside their department. Three individuals were chosen by their coworkers for their commitment to customer service, perseverance in the face of challenges, and can-do attitudes!

Almost five and a half years ago, or Paige’s birthday in 2019 😊
• What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding or fulfilling?
The ability to solve complex problems and bring new ideas is incredibly satisfying. Especially in Accounting where we are constantly evolving with new ways of handling challenges. There’s a real sense of satisfaction when everything works out in the end
• If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
The power to make Posey (my dog) listen to me would be great. Or Telekinesis.

Live Well by Palace

See a Quokka in Australia; they are literally the cutest animal on Earth.

Impactful
• What’s a skill you’d love to learn if you had more free time?
Back in California, I had so many beautiful flowers and succulents, but I had to say goodbye to them all. Now, I’d love to start a garden and grow my own fresh fruits and vegetables.

Mexican is my favorite. Endless tacos!
• If you could instantly learn a new language, which would you choose?
I’d love to learn Spanish
Katie Lynch | Talent Acquisition Specialist

• How long have you worked for Strategic Communications?
I started in April of 2024.
• What was your background prior to working for Strategic Communications?
I worked in HR at a nursing home before Strategic but I’ve been in HR for nearly 10 years now. I graduated from IUS in New Albany with my bachelor’s in business with a concentration in Human Resources.
• What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding or fulfilling?
I absolutely love getting to present offer letters and giving people that sort of good news. A new job can be a game changer for people, and I love getting to be a part of that!
• What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?
The easiest way to be a good employee is to be on time and at work every day. It’s the easiest thing that’s almost entirely in our control barring sickness, etc.
• Outside of work, what are you passionate about/enjoy doing?
Outside of work you’ll catch me with my nose in a book, hanging out with friends, singing (sometimes it’s karaoke and sometimes it’s something I make up on the fly), gardening, or playing my favorite game series (Dragon Age) for the millionth time.
• What is your current favorite TV Show, Podcast, or Book that you’d like to share with the world?
My favorite book series would have to be Throne of Glass. It’s fantastic honestly. I could give recommendations for many genres but for my non-fantasy readers check out The Thursday Murder Club, it’s a great mix of drama and the simple pleasures of life with friends.
• What is something that people may not know about you?
I’m technically an only child but you’ll often hear me refer to my brothers. I grew up surrounded by 9 foreign exchange students total between my aunt and my parents. One of my foreign exchange student brothers and a cousin actually made it to my wedding!
