December’s Employees of the Month at Strategic

Every month, the employees at Strategic Communications are given the opportunity to acknowledge exemplary colleagues within or outside their department. Three individuals were chosen by their coworkers for their commitment to customer service, perseverance in the face of challenges, and can-do attitudes!

• How long have you worked for Strategic Communications?

Was hired in June of 2020 (the year of the Covid)

What was your background prior to working for Strategic Communications?

Immediately prior to Strategic, I was working with Ingram Micro Mobility handling HR administration. I was the man with all the stats and data regarding the associates and correlating headcount in the warehouse. I played a pivotal role in daily planning assignments as well as hiring strategies and staffing for new product releases.

What aspect of your job do you find most rewarding or fulfilling?

I work with a great bunch of people which help me to utilize my gifts/talents. I also enjoy developing new tools using Excel/Access/SharePoint, and now Tableau, to make the more mundane tasks quicker and easier to complete.

What is the best career lesson you’ve learned so far?

Don’t be afraid to ask questions and try new things. Most of my skills were self-taught/refined due to the current business need and self-determination to learn new techniques.

Outside of work, what are you passionate about/enjoy doing?

For me, its all about my family. We enjoy going to church, the park, airport, and the RC airfield, the Falls of the Ohio. We are all about going out and seeing new things and having fun.

What is your current favorite TV Show, Podcast, or Book that you’d like to share with the world?

I recently finished Bo’s Café and am working on The Meaning of Marriage by Tim and Kathy Keller. Both are excellent books on becoming a better Christian, disciple maker, husband, and father…all good attributes worth improving and fine tuning.

What is something that people may not know about you?

Despite having a large family (we have 6 children) we are interested in adoption because we often feel as though someone is missing from our life (mostly when at the dinner table) and know there are children out there needing to be loved and shown how awesome God is.
